• About RPC

The Real Peoples Company (RPC) team is made up of individuals who are passionate about creativity and design. We have dedicated ourselves, without compromise, to excellence in design, production and presentation. Prior to our inception in 2004, the prevalent idea within Ghanaian society was that Ghanaian products should be bought as a show of patriotism in the face of competition; what we refer to as “patriotic sympathy”. We found this trend quite disheartening. Consequently, we set off to build a company with a portfolio that would not only rival the best in our industry, but soon also push the boundaries and birth innovation in Ghana, and Africa’s, design sphere.

As ambitious as our task may seem, we are already underway in fulfilling our dream of creating a world-class brand that all Ghanaians can be proud of. Our design team is constantly growing and filled with new inspiration to create products that will rival and drive innovation in our field. At RPC, we regard each product and each milestone as a testament to the potential and promise within our company. We look not to creating short-lived sensations, but rather to creating timeless classics.

    Our Passion

The pursuit of excellence in creativity and design is at the heartbeat of RPC. We take pride in breathing ideas into products and accessories with a stereotypical look and feel, and in so doing, transforming them. At the core of our functions is the inspiration we draw from other passionate individuals across various fields. Our ultimate desire as a company is to demonstrate our respect for individuals who pursue their dreams and set the pace. At RPC, passion is the key for self-motivation and success in the face of adversity. Anyone can dream, but not everyone has the courage to chase that dream.
To those who take a bold plunge," we respect and design for you!"

    Where We've Come From

RPC was started in 2004 by Paul Akrofie and Ronnie Fia during their final year at Mfantsipim Senior High School. Originally "Ronnie Paul Clothing", the company was birthed on the idea that backpacks and basic school apparel could be designed and sold to students. The student body was actively involved in the design process by evaluating and selecting designs. Each product emphasized unique style, and this set the basis for the "For Us, By Us, To the World" mentality which forms the essence of RPC’s design philosophy. The t-shirts and backpacks were a success and soon in high demand.

After the co-founders graduated high school, RPC underwent some structural changes by way of an expanding partner base, and a new name: Restricted Platinum Clothing. In addition to maintain the acronym RPC and what had by then become the brand name, the name chosen represented the company’s new direction and focus on unique style, identity and quality. The tag line “restricted to platinum quality,” was soon associated with the RPC brand.

RPC holderBetween 2005 and 2009, RPC encountered a slowdown in progress due mainly to the management team’s pursuit of higher education, and a shortage in the required finances for meeting the brand’s set standards. In spite of these difficulties however, RPC went on to bag many successes, including a partnership with the innovative management team of S.T.O.R.M. clothing. Under this new alliance, RPC provided jerseys for the Methodist University Basketball Team, sponsored the Mr. And Miss SSS Pageant show, provided attires for the G.I.S. emerging modelling club and the “Buddy Language” T.V. series, and also took on an array of custom made orders.

With new and dedicated members, and strong design and management teams, RPC entered a re-evaluation phase in 2010. During this period, the company examined its mission, as well as avenues for combining resources and actively pursuing the vision of building a brand recognized for its style, quality, and class, as well as years of collective industry experience.

Our brand vision is simple: we are creating a classic for us, by us, to the world. After reflecting on the experiences and passions of our members, RPC decided to undergo a final name change, hence the “Real Peoples Company.” RPC’s essence still lies in celebrating style, quality and class, and it has distinguished itself as the brand of choice for individuals and organizations who are passionate about the things they do and who seek to stand out among the crowd. We salute the individuals who hold onto passion in the face of adversity, who seek out quality in the presence of mediocrity, and who strive for uniqueness in the midst of conformity. RPC is forever in a state of evolution and in the perfection of our craft. We continue to work towards creating a classic. Welcome to the Real Peoples Company.
